Some lies and truths with statistics

Let’s get warmed up with some statistics!

Male bass in many US rivers feminized, study finds
Here’s an article with some good ones. Fully on the table is how many fish were tested, which ones were bad, which ones were decent, and whether or not it was significant. Slightly less above the table is the fact that this study is from 5 years ago, but hey.

Is ‘failure to launch’ really a failure?
And here’s an article with some pretty blatant bad ones. I admit I can’t take credit for finding this one, but anyone looking at the “huge rise” in population living at home with their parents might comment that while that rise is true, the US population is a weee bit bigger than it was in the 70’s. Not to mention the small dip in the number of kids living at home in the 70’s caused by the Vietnam war.
